Dangerous Pit Stop, Red Bull fined Rp 64 million in F1 Chinese GP
Red Bull Racing official was sentenced to a fine of 5,000 euros (USD 63.5 million) after stripping off Mark Webber's car in a dangerous situation in the Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai Park on Sunday (14/4).
Webber underwent pit stop on lap 15 to change all four tires and the front wing after colliding with Toro Rosso driver Jean-Eric Vergne.
On the next lap, the Australian rider is aware there are problems on the back of his car before right rear tire separated themselves. This incident is deemed to endanger other drivers.
Webber, who had to quit the race earlier had stopped his car in the same area when he ran out of fuel in the qualifying session on Saturday (13/4).
Due to running out of fuel on the qualifying session as well, racing supervisor sentenced Webber to start from the pitlane penalty for not carrying as much as the rest of a liter of fuel to be sampled.
